The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
